The Shandong province city of Binzhou hosted a conference to promote a green and low-carbon development path on July 16 during the Qingdao Multinationals Summit in Qingdao, Shandong.
China's plans to limit coal usage over the next five years and reduce its consumption during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period will spur the low-carbon transformation of the country's electric power system, ensuring that it achieves its goal of reaching peak carbon emissions before 2030, participants said at the event.
Binzhou officials said that the city will promote the circular economy for the next five years, aiming to establish a resources recycling system as part of its efforts to achieve carbon peak and neutrality goals.
Binzhou officials also expressed hope that more investors and companies would invest in the city and contribute to its green development strategy.
